OXFORD BULLS FLOORED BY WINCHESTER 2-3
With impact forward Handy Andy Bowen restricted to laying a new floor at home, the Bulls went into the game against 2nd-in-the-table Winchester as heavy underlays… oh I mean underdogs. But much like Andy, Winchester had the rug pulled out from under them as Bulls went ahead with an early goal. A second goal put the 10-man Winchester team squarely on the mat. Buoyed by their success, Bulls rather took their foot off the gas for the last 20 minutes of the first half and allowed Winchester to get a goal back.
The second half was played at a fierce tempo with Bulls soaking up an increasing amount of pressure from Winchester. With a few minutes to go, it looked like Bulls were going to secure a hard-earned win. However concentration lapsed and they let in a couple of late goals to lose 3-2.
The great news is that the floor chez Bowen looks fabulous and Bulls have “must win” game against Southampton on Saturday.
We miss you Andy.
