OHC L1s 2-4 Epsom L1s
South League Div 2
On 1st October, the L1s took on Epsom at Brookes. Having been held up on the M25, Epsom arrived late and Oxford used the prep time to their advantage, going close with early chances from Christy Barnard, Kim Warman and Floor Timmer flashed a penalty corner strike just wide of the post. Epsom soon came into the game however, and OHC keeper Emma Henriksen had to be on good form again this week, including a penalty flick, until Epsom pressure told and they were able to break the deadlock with two goals towards the end of the half.
Oxford strengthened their efforts in the second half, and good pressure from Warman and Beth Williamson resulted in a number of corners for Oxford. A great cross-pitch ball from then found Jen Johnson wide who released MOM Amy Litchfield in space to find Barnard and Timmer in the D and Timmer duly finished. Epsom then found their own space with a ball through the middle of the field finding the Epsom forwards in the Oxford D who made the score 3-1, and a breakaway goal soon after brought their tally to four. Oxford continued to push however, and were rewarded close to the death when Harri Wilkinson slotted home an Oxford penalty corner to leave the final score 4-2 to Epsom.
Scorers: Timmer, Wilkinson
