OHC L1s 1-4 Brighton L1s: South Div 2
Oxford L1s were defeated by Brighton on Saturday after a strong first half performance. Oxford started the game with aggression and pace, winning some early short corners and putting pressure on the Brighton defence.
They had to wait until half way through the first half to have their endeavours rewarded, with man of the match Floor Timmer getting on the end of a ball from Ellie Yuill to squeeze the ball past the Brighton keeper at the tightest of angles. Oxford went in 1-0 up at half time.
Oxford started the second half more sloppily, giving away possession a bit too cheaply and Brighton capitalised on this with a series of goals in 10 minutes that left the home team reeling. Oxford picked themselves up however, and Harri Wilkinson was unlucky not to get on the end of a few short corner chances and a late flick was also saved by the Brighton keeper, leaving the final score 1-4. There are lots of positives to take from the game, but Oxford need to avoid defensive lapses and put a few more chances away to get some points on the board.
