Oxford Hockey Club Wacky Sox for Juniors/Seniors – On Sale Now!


Looking for that perfect Christmas present or fancy treating yourself to a new pair of hockey socks?


Oxford Hockey Club are selling OHC branded Wacky Sox for £12 a pair. These socks are an ideal Christmas present or as a pair of training socks for both Juniors and Seniors.

They come in 2 sizes – Medium UK Size 2-6 and Large UK Size 7-11

Halloween Social

there will be pumpkin carving at Brookes from 11.30! The party starts at 8pm at The Oxford Retreat, dress up for a chance to win best dressed prize! There will be a free drink on arrival and lots of games. Party Tickets on sale NOW through Cesca, Sean or Captains- £13 for 2, £8 each or £10 on the door on the night!

For the Diary: Firework Night on Sat 5th Nov 2016 in South Park, Oxford. Fun for all the family! Meet at Joe Perks at 6pm we will cross into South Park for the Fireworks due to commence at 6.45. Social Update!

The next social is Oxford Beer and Cider festival! The festival runs Thurs-Sat 13-15th October. Reviews warn off lack of liquid on sat night so plan is; Friday 14th October 2016 meet at St Aldates Tavern at 8 for a prompt cross to the festival in the town hall! Club Day/Fun Festival

Our Club Day this year is taking place on Sunday 11th September at Oxford Brookes. The juniors will be on from 9.30 am to 12.30pm and the Seniors commence at 12.30pm and finish at  3.30pm. For seniors there will be mini 7 a side games. In addition there will be:

  • Have a go umpiring (free whistle – first come first served)
  • On Hand will be there with a stall for club kit and hockey equipment
  • Cake and second hand stall

Also in the morning Bridge Dental Practice will be there for mouthguard fitting – advance booking required – details here. (If under 18 parental consent required – here)

Do you know someone who wants to take up Hockey?

Well for those wishing to play for the first time, or those people who want to get back into the sport after a long lay off, we are running dedicated courses for six weeks. The courses are for both  men and ladies.

For ladies these commence on Tuesday 13th September at Oxford Brookes, details here. For men the courses start on Wednesday 14th September at Iffley Road – details here under “Come and Join us”.

Please note – the number of parking spaces has been reduced because of building work for the extension to the Sports Centre so you may wish to consider cycling, car share etc.

AGM: this Sunday (26 June) at 11am

Just a reminder that this year’s AGM will take place in the bar at Brookes sports centre at 11am this Sunday (26 June). All Oxford HC members are very much welcome to attend. There will be reports on how things have been going over the last year from the section chairs (men’s, ladies’ and juniors’) and an opportunity for questions and discussion.
