Club Fees

Unfortunately our hockey isn’t free – due to various organisations inconsiderately sending us bills! Nevertheless the club’s policy and constitution is that the club should break even year on year – and the fees we charge players should just cover all the club’s costs.

We charge an annual subscription and a match fee. Roughly speaking the subscription covers affiliation fees to England Hockey, league fees, costs of coaching as well as civil liability insurance. The match fee covers pitch hire, match balls, after game entertainment as well as costs of travelling to away games. We also sometimes get additional income to cover shortfalls from sponsorship and social events.

The senior section fees for the 2011-12 season were as follows (Note – fees for the 2012/13 season will be set in August – and are dependant on what we are to be charged for pitches etc for the coming season):

Match Fees

  • Men’s 1s, 2s and 3s, Ladies 1s and 2s: £10 (Student/Unemployed £5) These sides get the benefit of external coaches.
  • All other Saturday sides: £8 (Student/Unemployed £5)
  • Rover Mixed £5 (Student/Unemployed £3)
  • Mighty Maximus Mixed – will be set Summer 2012

Playing Subscriptions

  • Before 1st Nov 2011 – £99 (Student/Unemployed £50)
  • On or after 1st Nov 2011 – £115 (Student/Unemployed £60)
  • Club training only – £20 (Student/Unemployed £15)
  • Rover Mixed only – £20 (Student/Unemployed £15)
  • Goalkeepers who supply own kit – £NIL

Players can pay subscriptions by instalments – but this must be by standing order with first payment to be received by 31st October – contact the Treasurer, Paul Wilson, for details and form. New members who join/start playing after 1st November will pay pro-rata subs – again the Treasurer will advise amount due.

If a junior member has paid a junior membership, and they are over the age of 13, this entitles them to play matches for the senior section without paying a further subscription.

A membership form must also be completed in all cases.

Note – the club does not provide  insurance for you to cover the inevitable risks whilst participating in club activities. This is your responsibility to organise if you deem appropriate.

Non-Playing Subscription

Nil. Again a membership form must be completed.

Petrol Allowance

We will pay a petrol allowance of 18p per mile for those players who drive with a full car load of players from the agreed meeting point to an away game. “Away” games do not include games within the Oxford Ring Road, BRN, Tilsley Park or Gosford!
