League Teams
Our first and second teams play in the South league – in divisions 2 and 3A. This is a good, competitive standard of women’s hockey. Players have the opportunity to train twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays.

Our third through to sixth teams play in the Trysports league and are currently in Premier 2 and Divisions 1, 2 and 4. We are well situated for this league, which covers Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. Our main ladies’ training night for these teams is Tuesdays at Oxford Brookes.

Come and join us!
We can cater for a wide range of hockey abilities and are always happy to welcome new players of any standard at any stage of the season – please let us know if you’re interested by filling out the form on the join us page.

Oxford Hockey Club is a friendly organisation that values all its teams – and encourages stronger players to get involved in helping to coach and manage other sides.

Junior Players and Development Team
We also encourage talented youngsters to play in the adult sides, as soon as they are ready to do so – the minimum age to play in a senior game is 13. If you are younger than this, or wish to play for one of our many junior teams, please visit the Juniors’ website.

Our two girls’ development teams are one way that we help to bring youngsters into the senior section of the club – they play in a local development league. All the teams are allowed a maximum of 4 adult players, who help to coach the juniors during the games.

Summer Hockey
For those of you who can’t last the summer without hockey, we also play in two fun local summer leagues – one in Oxford, one in Abingdon. These run from May to July.

We enter several sides each year, and mix up all our players to create roughly equal-strength teams, so it’s a good chance to meet people from other teams for some sociable, sunny hockey.

Cup Competitions
We also enter several national knock-out competitions, including 1st XI and 2nd X1 cups; a ladies’ Masters cup (over 35s) and the County Cup tournament each September.

Indoor Hockey
A team takes part each December in a south area indoor hockey tournament – which can (but hasn’t yet, in our case!) lead to further national rounds… We also organise occasional fun club indoor hockey sessions at Blackbird Leys sports hall. If any other clubs are reading this and fancy a friendly match, please do get in touch!
