About Oxford Hockey Club

One of the last City (in blue) v. Rover (in red) derbies before the merger - luckily it finished in a draw...
Oxford Hockey Club was formed in 2011 from a merger between City of Oxford and Rover Oxford Hockey Clubs.
We run 11 men’s (including one veterans’), 6 ladies’ (plus a vets’ cup team) and 1 to 2 mixed teams, along with a massive junior section that competes in Mercian, Oxfordshire and Development leagues. New players are always welcome – go to the join us page to find out more.
FRIENDLY
It’s all about making friends with a common interest. Hockey is our passion but it’s friendship that binds us.
SOCIABLE
We aim to have fun on and off the field. This means regular social events to enjoy each other’s company sharing food and drink, quizzes, dances – just good old nights out.
INCLUSIVE
We make sure that adults and children alike get to play in an appropriate team whatever their ability. Our various teams cater for a very wide range of abilities – we welcome members from age 6 upwards, whatever your previous level of playing experience.
AFFORDABLE
We are the cheapest hockey club in Oxford, and offer real value for money with high quality coaching for both junior and senior players. Oxford Brookes University sports centre is our clubhouse – giving us access to great facilities and inexpensive bar prices!
